The Best Horrors Coming Soon in 2026

Get ready for another bumper year of horror here at The Light! Fun horror continues its comeback and we will get to enjoy long awaited sequels of beloved franchises. Time to grab your friends, get the popcorn and strap in for a year to remember.

We can't promise to show all these films at all our venues, but we'll do our best!

Obsession

After breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.

Premiering to rave reviews at Toronto International Film Festival, and currently trending on Rotten Tomatoes at 97%, we're excited to see what terrifying ordeal new director Curry Barker has in store for us.

Passenger

Another addition to add to our supernatural horror line up for the year is Passenger. We all dream about renting a van and living our best van life adventure but this young couple get more than they bargained for when embarking on their trip. After witnessing a brutal accident, they start to be hunted by a demonic stalker who follows them closely and seems impossible to outrun. With recent horrors from Paramount being Primate and Scream 7, we know Passenger is going to follow in their footsteps and be a chilling horror to remember.

Backrooms

Kane Parsons makes his feature-length directorial debut with this sci-fi horror film. Based on Parson’s own web series and inspired by a fictional location originating from an internet thread in 2019, this film has already had a lot of buzz surrounding it. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, the story follows Dr. Mary Kline who travels into an alternative dimension in pursuit of her missing patient, Clark, who has disappeared into the mysterious Backrooms. With over 30,000 square feet of rooms built for the feature film, there was reports that cast and crew even got lost whilst filming.

Scary Movie 6

With over ten years since Scary Movie 5, parody fans have been dreaming of the next chapter and their prayers have finally been answered. The Wayans brothers are back with bundles of slapstick and gross out gags as they continue to recreate and distort well known and universally loved horror films from the ages. Joined by their original cast member Anna Faris, we know this is going to be full of nostalgia and laugh out loud moments.

Evil Dead Burn

Join us for the sixth instalment of the Evil Dead franchise. It serves as the third standalone addition, after Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise (2023) and has again been produced by Sam Raimi. While the plot of this instalment is officially under wraps, we do know that it will follow suit with intense horror and an appearance from the franchise’ signature deadites. Filled with gore and tension, we are sure you will be on the edge of your seat.

Plus there's so many more great films out this year, whether you like a scare, a laugh or even a cry. Our cinemas are ready to welcome you and let your emotions take centre stage!
